    Life in Pieces

I watched this last night. I like Colin Hanks (The Good Guys is on Netflix, go binge, it's amazing), so I was glad to see him back on TV. I thought it was pretty good. Some really funny moments but not sure how it's structured, will hold up. It's billed as "One family. Four short stories" and it's told that way. Modern Family usually does this with a filler story, about another part of the family. The problem here is, they all have to be good, if they are supposed to stand alone.

Last nights first story was good. It had a couple of laughs, but I couldn't have told you at the end of it, who's story it was, since I hadn't met the family at that point. I had an idea, but it wasn't clear.
The 2nd story was hilarious. Colin's wife had just given birth and later the wife takes a mirror and checks out the damage of child birth on her privates. She compares it to when the Predator take off his mask.
The 3rd story had one laugh out loud moment when the father is telling his son about the time he lost his virginity, but it didn't count. The rest of it wasn't anything special.
The 4th story was lame. The father decides to have his funeral on his birthday, so he can hear what everyone has to say about him. It was at this point, it confirmed, who in the first story was in the family, since it was the first time they were all together.
I'll give it a few more episodes. Worst case, I can just tune in for Colin's short story and save me some time.
