    Update on the job situation.

After a couple of weeks getting less hours, they went back up (mostly due to other employees quitting or getting fired). My paycheck for the beginning of October was lighter than usual, but the following pay period ended with almost 80hrs. I put it in the bank earlier today, and in the last few hours I've paid ahead on utilities along with buying some stuff online (halloween costume stuff, advance ticket for Dr. Strange and some games on steam) and I still have a comfortable amount left.

Right now my weekly routine is working 4 days a week (with at least two of those days being double shifts as long as 10 hours) and 3 days off. It's tiring, but at least I'm getting more time on the clock. Things are much better now. I'm still keeping an eye our for other jobs, but it's not such a desperate imperative to find one now.

There's other jobs, and I'm gonna be going over to the bimart near my house later today (I noticed a now hiring sign when I rolled by on the bus yesterday). Any other job I'm likely to find will also be minimum wage, though likely with better hours. The thing that really sucks about the sign waiving part of the job going away, is that it was the best pay for the least amount of frustration I've ever had with a job. Staying in the same general area doing one simple thing as opposed to moving around taking orders, getting stuff out of the oven and taking more orders in an a seemingly endless loop. Also, I'm gonna miss reading audio books and listening to podcasts so often.

Sucks about the job Jack. Is there just nothing else available there? Seems like you should be finding looking hard for something with better pay, hours and just about anything else that could be better.

So my hours have been severely reduced at the pizza factory. The owner has apparently decided that now that minimum wage has gone up by 0.50 an hour, he needs to cut the sign waiving position at his stores (which I think there were only 2 out of the 6 or 7 he runs that still had any sign waivers). My hours have gone from 27 or more a week, down to 5 or 6 with extra hours if they need more people.

    Fuckin' hell.

On the plus side... well there's not really much of one, but I might be able to put in a claim with unemployment for lost hours since it's not my fault, but I'll have to look into it. Also, I'm not sure if doing that would put me in owner guy's sights for finding some kind of "legit" reason to fire me.

Definitely gonna be giving craig's list a closer look.

Well, it's not official in the calendar sense, but weatherwise (at least in oregon) it feels like Fall/Autumn is here. Among other things, this means I've retired my summer jam mix that I've been playing at work whenever they need me inside (Thanks again for that speaker Polk). Sadly, it doesn't seem like there's a lot of good songs for an Autumn themed list.

    How're you guys doin?
