I have probably seen more movies this year than I have in a past couple. Without a doubt the best was Fury Road.

I love popcorn movies. So I'm very forgiving when they miss the mark here and there during the flick. Age of Ultron, fun movie that missed quite a few times. Jurassic World, Awesome movie, but it has its problems.

Fury Road joins my all time best list. Terminator 2 and Aliens. All 3 work throughout, have plenty of action, characters you care about and real sense of excitement as you are watching them. I still wish I hadn't known Arnold was going to be the good guy in T2 before I went. They did a great job setting it up like he was going to be the bad guy at the start.

I think I appreciate having seen "Jupiter Ascending". Was that this year?

Mainly because it gave me an insight as to why fans of anime are so passionate about their fandom. There's a super complex story, super complex imagery and it's basically a romance novel blown up 1000X

Also Pitch Perfect 2. Because seeing through the eyes of a different demographic is useful. What I saw as painful, bad attempts at humor were seen as hilarity by the teen girls in the audience. Perspective.

Finally Inside Out. Because Pixar animation is always gorgeous and this one hits you right in the feels.

For me, it's Mr. Holmes. Sir Ian McKellan as an elderly Sherlock Holmes dealing with the ravages of age, and the bizarre experience of watching his life get over taken by the fictional version of himself is a heart rending masterpiece. It's a rare treat to see a classic hero who's gotten old enough that he's no longer so heroic. The frailness of mortality, and the dread specter of senility serve as unfathomably profound antagonists, because not only can they not be defeated, they can't even be fully understood.

It's a diamon in the rough gem of a movie that I highly recommend you all see.

Trying something different week. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I'm going for more open ended polls. Since there's not an option to enter something in a blank field and have it calculated into a poll answer, just post your own answer in the comments.
